The Gay Agenda 29

The Gay Agenda takes a phrase once wielded as a slur by the religious right and turns it into what it should have meant all along: a celebration of gay lives, told in short form. This twenty-ninth collection gathers four short films, Dominant Chord, Petit Ami, Skin to Skin and Follow Me, into a single forty-seven-minute program of romance and drama from a range of directors. Among them, Follow Me is Belgian filmmaker Anthony Schatteman's sequel to Kiss Me Softly, returning to Jasper a few years on as he experiences the intense first pull of love toward an older teacher named Gerard, with Ezra Fieremans among the cast. The other shorts, featuring performers including Clayton James, Thomas Ryckewaert and Shaun Dunne, explore intimacy and connection between men in their own registers, as their titles alone suggest. Like the rest of the anthology series, it is a compact tour of contemporary queer storytelling.
