The Gay Agenda 27

The Gay Agenda takes a phrase weaponized by the religious right and turns it into what it should have meant all along: a celebration of gay culture, delivered through a curated program of short films. This 27th collection brings together three dramas united by longing and the search for self. In Read Aloud, a young gay editor who dreams of performing is pushed into an unfamiliar creative world by an online hookup. The Surf Report follows Freddie, whose surfer lover K goes out one morning from the Rockaways and vanishes; skipping the memorial, Freddie ends up in a bar and in front of a tarot reader, questioning what he believes as he searches for answers. In Trigger, from British filmmakers Yorgo Glynatsis and Chloe Potamiti, Anthony, a 29-year-old gay actor, sits through a reality-show audition whose intrusive questions about his sexuality send him spiraling into a traumatic memory.
