Not So Straight in Silver Lake

In the hills of Silver Lake, the famously bohemian neighborhood on the east side of Los Angeles, four LGBTQ couples share a single compound, and with it each other's business. Created and directed by Billy Clift, this ensemble comedy follows the couples through romantic negotiations, career anxieties, and the everyday friction of living close enough to hear everything through the walls. The cast includes Calpernia Addams, Daniel Franzese, Diego Escobar, Johnny Kostrey, and Grant Mannschreck, playing a cross-section of queer Los Angeles that spans generations and identities. Running two seasons of four episodes each, the series is affectionate about its characters' flaws and clear-eyed about the compromises of chosen family. It is a snapshot of a very specific corner of the city, where community is both a comfort and a constant complication.
