A Not So Straight Christmas

Karen has lost her taste for the holidays. Worn down and disillusioned, she decides this is the year she steps back from the chosen family who usually fill her December with noise, warmth and tradition. The quiet she wanted turns out to be lonelier than she expected, and by Christmas Eve she finds herself unmoored and vulnerable, reaching out to an old flame for the comfort she pushed away. Director Billy Clift's holiday dramedy stars Calpernia Addams as Karen, with Diego Escobar, Johnny Kostrey, Daniel Franzese and David Millbern rounding out the ensemble of friends, exes and neighbors who make up her extended queer family. Blending seasonal comedy with a tender look at loneliness, forgiveness and the families we build for ourselves, the film asks what it means to come home when home is made of people rather than places.
