Wayne

2015TV-1410 minCC

Wayne (Stuart Klitsner) is an aging farmer whose mind, worn by dementia, has begun to slip its moorings in the present. As the days blur, he is drawn back to the summer of his youth and to Ron (Jeremy Kahn), the ranch hand with whom he shared a love that the time and place would never have allowed him to name. Moving between the old man's fractured present and the vivid memories he cannot stop returning to, Mario Galarreta's ten-minute drama treats memory loss not only as tragedy but as a kind of door, one that lets Wayne walk back toward the person he was before he learned to hide. Martha Stookey co-stars as Louise. Wayne screened at Frameline39, the San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival, in 2015, and is presented on Here TV as part of the Queer Quickies 212 anthology.
