Toeing the Line

Zach (Jesse Pepe) and Lamar (D'Andre Lampkin) have been best friends for years, close enough that there is almost nothing they have not done together. Almost. On the day this short drama unfolds, the one line the two men have always left uncrossed is suddenly crossed, and the friendship they thought they understood becomes something neither of them has words for. Writer-director Branden Blinn keeps the focus tight on the two friends and the women in their lives, Shawnee (Zondra Wilson) and Rebecca (Kristin Erickson), as the fallout ripples outward over seventeen minutes. Honest about desire, loyalty and the fear of losing what you have, Toeing the Line is a small-scale story about a big moment, and about how a single act can redraw the map of a life.
