The Pink Bike

Gabriel has found a very nice bike. It rides well, it looks good, and it is his. There is just one small detail that keeps nagging at him: the bike is pink. Robert Ly's brisk eight-minute short spins that single hang-up into a wry, observant comedy-drama about masculinity and the invisible rules men enforce on one another over something as trivial as a color. As Gabriel weighs whether to embrace his new ride or worry about what it says about him, the film quietly asks who exactly he is performing for, and why a shade of paint should carry so much freight.
