The Dinah Insider

Every spring, The Dinah transforms Palm Springs into the largest lesbian gathering in the world, a long weekend of pool parties, concerts and late nights. This 2011 Here TV special, hosted by Kayden Kross and directed by Athena Maroulis, goes beyond the daytime spectacle to capture what happens after the main events wind down. Kross conducts candid after-hours interviews with attendees about what brought them to the desert and what the weekend means to them, while roving Insider Cam footage catches the festival's flirtations and friendships in a looser, more intimate register. At 23 minutes, The Dinah Insider is a snapshot of a specific moment in queer women's nightlife culture, an adult-oriented look at a landmark event told from the inside by the women who were there.
