Two women in love want what everyone else seems to have without effort: a life together that the world around them accepts without comment. Determined to do things the regular way, they try to fit their relationship into the shapes society offers, but each attempt to play by the rules leaves them further from themselves. Eventually, the only honest option left is to stop hiding altogether. Alex Sebastian Laibach's Canadian short, featuring Karine Picard and Andree Lortie as the couple with Antony Dominguez and Robert Verret in support, approaches the subject with a light, comic touch rather than anguish, finding humor in the absurdity of trying to pass and warmth in the decision not to. A brief romantic comedy about acceptance, both the kind we ask of others and the kind we finally grant ourselves, it argues that living openly is less a grand gesture than a sensible night's sleep away.
