Skin to Skin

Meeting a stranger for a night can mean very different things to the two people involved, and what each carries away is rarely what they expected. Irish filmmakers Luke Daly and Nathan Fagan explore that territory in Skin to Skin, an experimental documentary about the beautifully messy relationship between intimacy and LGBTQ hook-up culture. The film works by texture and voice, with Shaun Dunne, Siobhán Callaghan and Rodrigo Ternevoy lending presence to a collage of experiences from the fleeting to the surprisingly tender. Frank about sex but interested above all in feeling, it looks for real connection in moments designed to be temporary.
