She's Living for This

Drag legend Sherry Vine presides over this freewheeling Here TV variety series, a half hour of comedy sketches, celebrity drop-ins and a running weekly soap opera that spoofs daytime melodrama with a wig on. Directed by Eric Feldman and Josh Rosenzweig, the 2012 series draws on the New York nightlife world that made Vine a star, with first-season guests including Justin Vivian Bond, Joey Arias, Candis Cayne and Cazwell, along with Kayden Kross and David Ilku. Vine famously does much of the work herself, hunting thrift stores for dresses and the Lower East Side for props, and that homemade, anything-goes spirit is the show's charm. Silly, glamorous and occasionally unhinged, She's Living for This is a showcase for one of drag's great comic performers and a snapshot of queer New York entertainment at its most playful.
