When Shelter arrived in 2007, Jonah Markowitz's story of Zach, a working-class San Pedro artist who falls for his best friend's older brother, quickly became one of Here TV's most cherished originals, winning the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Film in Limited Release and a string of festival prizes. More than a decade later, with the world in lockdown, host David Millbern reunites the film's stars Trevor Wright and Brad Rowe with Markowitz for an in-depth video conversation about how the film came together and why it has stayed with audiences for so long. The three men revisit the casting, the surfing-town setting and the chemistry that made Zach and Shaun's romance land, and they reflect on where their own lives and careers have gone since.
