Road to the Runway

Transgender models from across North America converge on Los Angeles for a shot at the ultimate prize: a place on the roster of Slay Model Management, the world's first and only agency devoted exclusively to trans talent. Created by Slay founder Cecilio Asuncion, this Here TV docuseries follows the annual Slay Model Search from open call to final runway, then travels home with the contestants to see where they come from, from Texas to Boston, from families that embraced them to families that did not. Model and mentor Arisce Wanzer joins Asuncion on screen alongside Phil Anthony, RD Alba, and Mylla James. Produced by Emmy winner David Millbern, the series is part fashion competition and part group portrait, insisting that its subjects are daughters, friends, and partners first, with careers and stories that deserve to be seen beyond the catwalk.
