Petit Ami

Jasper is in his twenties, sells his company to men who can pay for it, and has learned not to feel much about any of them. His latest appointment takes him to a seedy motel called Petit Ami to meet Vincent, an older client who says little and reveals less. For Jasper it is a routine transaction, until the evening turns on a secret Vincent has been keeping, one that reframes everything about why the two men are in that room together. Directed by Anthony Schatteman, the Belgian short stars Ezra Fieremans as Jasper and Thomas Ryckewaert as Vincent and runs a taut fourteen minutes. A two-hander built on silences and shifting power, Petit Ami turns a squalid rendezvous into an unexpectedly tender study of intimacy, loneliness and the walls people build to keep from being known.
