Andy is 22, newly arrived in New York City, and certain that acting is his future. Then a routine test comes back positive for HIV, and the life he was building has to be rebuilt around a diagnosis he never expected. Rather than face it alone he leans on his three closest friends, a loud, loyal, imperfect crew who are each barely holding their own lives together while trying to help him hold his. Directed by Jason Lee Courson and written by star Paul Victor, who drew on his own experience for the story, Mess unfolds as a six-part series with Jaime Cepero, Elle Estanol, Robbie Fowler and Ben Rimalower, and counts Billy Porter among its executive producers. Frank about sex, stigma and money troubles, and unafraid of humor, it portrays what it means to be young, gay and positive in the twenty-first century without turning Andy into either a victim or a lesson.
