It's a Match!

A swipe on Tinder brings a young woman a promising new match, and the chat begins the way these things do, easy and flirtatious. But the more he talks, the clearer it becomes that this stranger already knows a great deal about her, far more than a dating profile could reveal. Directed by Cyril Cagnat and starring Robyn Wolf, Pablo Pauly, and Mathilde Ripley, this French short compresses the anxieties of app-era dating into a tight thriller about surveillance, intimacy, and how much of ourselves we hand over with every message. Running under a quarter of an hour, it plays as a taut, modern cautionary tale in which the threat arrives not through a broken window but through a glowing screen.
