In Passing

The year is 2037, and Chloe has loved Justin for most of her life. Back in college he committed himself to a life-extension program, choosing a longer future over the messy present, and the decades since have carried them along separate tracks. Now both in their seventies, Chloe decides to make one final attempt to reach him before time, however much of it science has promised, runs out. Bittnarie Shin's short drama, featuring Kathryn Kates, Jon Shear, C. Bain and Suzanne Savoy, uses its near-future premise sparingly, less interested in gadgets than in the quiet questions that longevity raises: whether love that has waited fifty years can still be answered, and whether a longer life is worth much without someone to share it. A gentle, melancholy piece about persistence, aging and the courage it takes to knock on a door one last time.
