Goodbye Rosa

Andi and Rosa were school friends in Rome, back when Andi sat quietly at the edge of straight clubs so that Rosa could enjoy the spotlight. Now Rosa is visiting London, and reserved, still-closeted-at-heart Andi turns the tables by inviting her to a lesbian speed-dating night. Rosa, who is not gay, takes to the room with the same carefree charm she brings to everything, while Andi, who is, finds herself frozen on the sidelines once again. Flaminia Graziadei's seventeen-minute short plays the reversal for gentle comedy and something tender underneath: Andi's long-held feelings for her friend, and the realization that being true to herself matters more than any label. Heléna Antonio plays Rosa and Carlotta Morelli plays Andi, in a film that moves easily between English and Italian.
