Good Night! My Rebel Girls

In 1950s Taiwan, A-Bao and her friends live two lives. By day they are the picture of respectable womanhood; by night they trade dresses for trousers and take over the city's nightclubs as a self-styled gang they call the Thirteen Rogue Girls. Huang Meng Wen's Mandarin-language short romance, starring Ching Hui Chen, Hsu Fang Tung and Maki Lee, steps into a hidden corner of postwar lesbian life, where friendship, glamour and defiance flourish just out of sight of a conservative society. Part period drama and part love story, it celebrates the daring of women who built a world of their own after dark, and the risks that came with keeping it secret.
