Glances

In a busy café, two strangers, Mike (Enrique Escarpita) and Sean (Ryan Pikofsky), catch each other's eye across the room, and neither can quite look away. What passes between them in that instant is small and wordless, but it is enough to unsettle both men and to raise the question of what, if anything, they should do about it. Aleksei Borovikov's seven-minute short is a study in the charged silence of attraction between people who have never spoken, built almost entirely from looks, hesitations and the noise of the room around them.
