Give Up the Ghost
A kiss between two schoolmates should be a small thing, but for Charlie and Matt it becomes the start of a crisis. After the moment passes, Matt walks away without a word. Then, in the unlikely setting of a catechism lesson, he turns on Charlie in front of the class, claiming the kiss was never something he agreed to. An argument breaks out, and what was private becomes public, with faith, shame and reputation all suddenly on the table. Pedro Rilhó's short drama, produced in Britain in 2020 and starring Jesse Rutherford and Oliver Wellington, is about the gap between what happens between two people and the story one of them decides to tell. It is a tense, spare piece about adolescence, religion and denial, presented on Here TV as part of The Gay Agenda 25.
