Hemi is a fifteen-year-old who is taking swimming lessons and has zero interest in them. He is pushed to continue by his father, Meir, a conservative mechanic raising his son alone and convinced that discipline in the pool will make a man of him. The relationship between the two is strained, and Hemi quietly tries to find his own path by taking money from Meir to enroll at a dance studio, the one place he feels like himself.
