Fake It
Zohar is a photographer with an exhibition to fill and not enough images to fill it. Her solution is unorthodox: she asks Ella, her former girlfriend, to help her restage moments from their relationship so she can photograph them. Room by room, the two women reenact scenes from a love that has already ended, and the line between performance and feeling begins to blur. Directed by Tzurit Hartzion and starring Naama Chetrit and Dafi Alpern, this Israeli short from Tel Aviv University's film program uses the camera within the camera to ask what remains real once a relationship is over. The film was widely honored on the festival circuit, taking the Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Short at Outfest Los Angeles in 2016 along with prizes at the MiFo LGBT Film Festival and the London International Short Film Festival.
