Eclipse of a Relationship

A couple is coming apart, and one of the men decides the fix is to take charge. He tells his boyfriend exactly what to do, and among the instructions is opening their relationship to a third man. Rather than rekindling anything, the arrangement speeds up a decline that was already under way, as jealousy, curiosity, and resignation replace whatever once held them together. Italian filmmaker Nino Zeno, who explored similar territory in Anatomy of a Relationship, returns with lead actor Fabio Cavalera, joined here by Roberto Gobbi and Jacopo Roati. In nine tightly composed minutes, the short watches intimacy erode in real time without judging any of the men involved, treating the end of love as a slow eclipse rather than a sudden break.
