Birth Rite

On the night of her eighteenth birthday, Rebecca meets Roman, a warlock whose powers seem to answer questions she has carried all her life. He shows her a vision of how her parents were murdered and places around her neck the Sacred Amulet, the inheritance he insists is her birthright. Drawn deeper into witchcraft, Rebecca begins to change, and her adoptive sister Erin realizes she may be the only one who can pull her back from the darkness that is claiming her. Directed by Devin Hamilton and released in 2003, this low-budget supernatural horror stars Natalie Sutherland as Rebecca alongside Danny Wolske and Laura Nativo, with genre veterans Brinke Stevens and Julie Strain in supporting roles. It is a tale of destiny, seduction and the pull of forbidden power, made in the spirit of turn-of-the-millennium cult horror.
