A True Story

Rome empties out in August, and in the heat two men in their twenties find each other. Giulio and Alessio could hardly be more different, yet the attraction is immediate, and it comes with a deadline: Alessio is only in the city for a short stay. What begins as a fleeting summer connection soon stirs up old wounds and memories of abandonment, pushing both men toward a tenderness neither expected and a depth of feeling neither knows how to hold. Italian filmmaker and poet Mariano Lamberti, whose debut feature premiered at Venice, directs Giulio Guerrisi and Alessio Bisaccia in this intimate coming-of-age romance. The film screened at TLVFest in Tel Aviv and the Rome Independent Film Festival, and its ensemble received a special mention for Best Cast at the Rainbow Awards in Rome.
